I’ve just dubbed myself a live podcaster.
Not because I record in front of people. But because I podcast wherever and whenever a thought hits. Mic clipped to my side like a cop keeps his holster.
That’s exactly what happened today.
This week, Nakia and I were on a mission—searching for the Lexus key. We flipped over clothes, checked counters, tore through drawers. The car sat in the driveway, ready to be used… but with no key, we couldn’t bust a move.
Then, in the middle of all that, I lost the Jeep key too. Same story. Looked everywhere. Couldn’t find it—until I finally noticed it had been sitting right there… in plain sight. I just hadn’t stayed in the right spot long enough to see it.
Fast forward: Nakia FaceTimes me and flips the camera. “You’re not going to believe this.”
There it was. The Lexus key. Dead center on the desk—the same desk we had searched a dozen times. The designated place. It had been there all along.
We’d sat right there doing work. We’d looked at that desk over and over. But we didn’t see it. Not because it wasn’t there. But because we weren’t thorough.
And that’s the point.
Jesus said, “I give you the keys to the Kingdom…”
And in Luke 17, He says the Kingdom isn’t over there or over here—it’s within you.
The keys have already been given.
But if you don’t thoroughly search the designated place—within—you’ll think you’re locked out.
You’ll try to find workarounds, make duplicate keys, or settle for stuck seasons… not because the Kingdom is missing, but because you stopped looking before you found it.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
Searching your insides is more than thinking. It’s surrendering.
You don’t just “think” your way into the Kingdom—you’re escorted into it through submission.
We lose time, peace, clarity, and power when we look everywhere else but inside.
So now I’m asking:
Are you thoroughly searching the place where God already put the key?
Or are you overlooking it—rushing, distracted, assuming it’s missing?
I’m telling you: the key is in plain sight.
God didn’t hide it to trick you. He hid it to transform you when you slow down enough to seek.
It’s been there all along.
So take your time.
Thoroughly search the place He told you to look: within.
